GENERAL PURPOSE CUSTARD™ TRANSFORMERS
Semi-Custom designed Toroidal Step-Down Transformers
CUSTARDTM transformers are based on our stock of standard cores with primary windings and insulation in place to allow winding of customer specified secondaries. Available from 20VA to 1000VA with dual 117V primaries for 50/60Hz operation. Can also be used for 117V/60Hz installations with primaries connected in parallel.
Please note that the General Purpose (CUSTARD) transformers should not be used for high-end audio applications, which often require special design features like low flux density. For audio applications, a full custom design is recommended to guarantee low magnetic strayfields and minimized mechanical noise.
Also, CUSTARD transformers may not be used when medical safety standards apply. For medical applications we will be happy to make a full custom designed transformer in compliance with UL60601, CSA601.1 and IEC601.1. Medical Isolations Transformers are available as standard designs from 150VA to 5000VA as shown on our website.
