Bridgeport Magnetics offers you CUSTARD*, a unique program of custom designed toroidal transformers based on a full range of power ratings from 20VA to 1000 VA with standard primary windings for dual 117V, 50-60Hz operation and with any secondary windings specified by the customer AT VERY COMPETITIVE prices.

CUSTARD is based on our stock of standard cores with primary windings and insulation in place.

Please note that the General Purpose (CUSTARD) Transformers on this page are not recommended for high-end audio applications, which often require special design features like low flux density to eliminate audible hum. For audio applications, a full custom design is recommended to guarantee low magnetic strayfields and mechanical noise.

Also, CUSTARD transformers may not be used when medical safety standards apply. For medical applications we will be happy to make a full custom designed transformer certified to UL60601-1, CSA C22.2 No.601-M90, EN/IEC 61558-1 and EN/IEC 61000-3-2 (EMC) and EN/IEC61000-3-3 (EMC) Medical Isolations transformers are available as standard designs from 150VA to 2000VA as shown elsewhere on our website.

For Auto-transformers and Step-Up transformers please contact our factory design engineering team or use the Customer Specification Sheet on this website for a full custom design when you cannot use the CUSTARD transformers. Using a full custom design you can specify a height to diameter ratio of 1.5:1 (Tall) or 1:5 (Flat) or anything in between to meet your specific space requirements. The most economical design uses a diameter to height ratio of 2:1.
